There are many day treks of varying length and difficulty around Dhulikhel. The most popular is the walk to Panauti, an ancient riverside town, via Namo Buddha Stupa. Mountain bikes can be hired if you want to explore further afield. An exciting rafting trip on the Bhotekoshi, the steepest river in Nepal, is an ideal way to experience Nepal’s natural beauty. There are many temples and cultural sites in the area; one of the most famous is the Bhagawati Temple at Palanchok. The Tibetan border is within reach of Dhulikhel-enjoy a trip to Khasa or Tatopani with its natural hot springs.
