Himalayan Outdoor Festival

A three-day Himalayan Outdoor Festival to celebrate adventure sports, enjoy live music, and Himalayan lifestyle is to be held on June 1-3 at the Hattiban Resort in Pharping.

Various adventure sports events are to be held, such as the Champa Devi Uphill Challenge for trail running, a dual mountain biking race, and a dyno rock climbing competition.

Along with the main events, an array of various other fun activities, such as slack-lining, sack race, rope-climbing, muddy run, paragliding shows, ice-axe pull-up competitions, will be held with live music by international DJs.

The objectives behind this event are to promote Nepal as an outdoor sports destination by hosting an international standard event in Kathmandu as well as introduce adventure sports to the general public and create employment opportunities at local level.

A plus point of the festival is that it’ll be green and clean as the organizing team is committed to spreading Leave No Trace ethics throughout the festival by implementing measures such as the Refillable Water Program, Solar Lighting, Carpooling, Waste Diversion, as well as Hattiban Hills Cleanup Program manpowered by volunteers.

The Hattiban Resort (1,852m) offers some of the best views of the Kathmandu Valley below and the snowcapped mountains beyond. The Resort is just a 15-kilometer drive from downtown Kathmandu.

One can also participate in yoga sessions that will be held in the mornings for a fresh start of the day.

The festival will be a fun-filled experience for local as well as international adventure enthusiasts of ages 21 and above.
