Nepal Pharma Expo 2014

The Association of Pharmaceuti-cal Producers of Nepal (APPON) is organising the fifth edition of Nepal Pharma Expo from February 28. Besides medicinal products, the three-day expo will showcase the latest technology used for drug manufacturing.

Being organised under the theme “Sustenance through Quality”, the expo will showcase products of 104 drug manufacturers from Nepal and India, APPON said. Equipment related to pharma processing and packaging, and manufacturing plants, fine chemicals and bulk drugs will also be put on display. Environment saving equipment like Air Handling Unit and Ventilation Air Conditioning will be among other attractions.

Speaking at a press meet here on Monday, the expo ’s coordinator Deepak Prasad Dahal said the expo aims at disseminating information on quality pharma productions to stakeholders. “Besides, it will also help exchange the knowledge and skill,” he said.

Bijendra Shrestha, managing director of Pacific Commercial, a sponsor of the event, said they will showcase the latest technology like Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrophotometer Triple Quark, besides ordinary equipment like HPLC.

APPON is organising the exhibition in collaboration with the Department of Drug Administration, Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nepal Pharmaceuti- cal Association, Nepal Pharmace-utical Association and Graduate Pharmacists Association. The expo is expected to attract 30,000 visitors.
