> It takes 25 minutes to fly from Kathmandu to Simra Airport, then a drive of 30 minutes from Simra Airport to reach Birgunj.
> It is a five hour drive via the scenic countryside highway from Kathmandu to Birgunj.
> Birgunj is warm and sunny in winter (October-March). It can be hot, wet and humid in summer (April-July).
> Light clothing is recommended at all times.
> Hat, sun-block cream and sunglasses are advisable for outdoor activities.
> Mosquito repellent for the evening and night is another wise precaution.
