Everest Hotel gets red sticker

The government on Tuesday pasted red sticker on The Everest Hotel building after it was found to sustain major cracks following April 25 earthquake.

A team comprising Senior Divisional Engineer Department of Urban Development and Building Construction Kosh Nath Adhikari pasted red sticker in the five-star hotel's building.

"The hotel's building was given a green sticker after April 25 earthquake as no major cracks were seen then," Adhikari added, "However, three major pillars of the building seem to be severely damaged after May 12 aftershock."

Everest Hotel is the first five-star hotel to get red sticker after the earthquake strike.

Experts from the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DoUDBC) and other stakeholders have been making visual assessment of various buildings after the deadly earthquake that shook the country on April 25.
