Entry fees for Patan Museum increased

Patan Museum is all set to increase the entry fee from April 14, an official with the museum said.

Museum officer Suresh Man Lakhey said the museum had to take this measure as it was difficult to run the museum from the current source of income in the form of entry fees.

As per the increment to be effective from April 14, foreigners will have to pay Rs 400, foreign students Rs 300, visitors from SAARC countries and China Rs 250, Nepali nationals Rs 30 and Nepali students Rs 20 as entry fee.

The current entry fee is Rs 250 for foreign visitors, Rs 200 for foreign students, Rs 150 for visitors from SAARC countries and China, Rs 20 for Nepali nationals and Rs 10 for Nepali students.

The museum collects money ranging from Rs 30 thousand to 35 thousand daily from entry fees.

The Patan Museum was enlisted in the World Heritage List in 1979. It was opened to the general public 16 years back.

An architectural gallery will also be opened with the increment in the entry fees, Lakhey said.
