NTB promotes leisure, incentive tours in PATA event

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) promoted leisure and incentive segment in the Pasifict Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart held in Chengdu, China from September 15 to 17.

According to a press statement issued by NTB, NTB and PATA Nepal Chapter jointly participated in the mart. "Looking at the surge in arrival figures and the prospect of Chinese market, China is soon to be the top source market for Nepal and hence NTB will focus more on Chinese market," Subash Nirola, acting CEO of NTB, said in the statement.

PATA Travel Mart is a platform of global networks of highly professional companies focusing on business while maximizing travel value for customers. In a conference of PATA board members, Nirola gave away Everest Diamond Jubilee medal to David Hemplemen, a veteran climber and world renowned adventurist who scaled Everest from both Nepal and Tibet side.

Highlighting the cultural and cordial ties between the two countries and Nepal´s new initiatives and special offer for the Chinese market, Nirola said: “We are shifting our focus on leisure and incentive tours," Nirola said in the statement.

The number of visitors from China increased by 16 percent to around 70,000 in 2012, according to the statement.
