Nepal bags best print promotional award in Travel and Tourism Fair 2013 Ahmedabad

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in Travel & Tourism Fair ,TTF-2013, in the fast rising city of Ahmedabad, in Gujurat held from 16-18 August 2013 with the aim of increasing awareness and educating the Indian traveller on Nepal's tourism products and offerings targeting upcoming season of Dashara and Puja Holidays in Gujurat.

Commemorating this year as Mount Everest Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, Nepal is marketed as an ultimate adventure destination that is rarely found anywhere else in the world. Indian adventure enthusiasts are seen exploring manifold adventure travel options .

NTB and the participating company from Nepal; Yeti Airlines Domestic, Monterosa Treks and Expedition,Nepal Holiday Maker Tours and Travel, Fishtail Tours and Travels,Himalayan Glory Travels and Tours and,Abhiwadan Holidays engaged in both B2B and B2C promotion during the fair. Amongst many exciting options, the private sector had customized various lucrative packages for the Indian tourist at the fair. Pilgrimage, Leisure, Soft Adventure Activities and Muktinath pilgrimage tour drew special attractions .

The three day fair attracted more than 20000 visitors. 100 stalls featuring dozen Indian states along with destination countries Nepal, Thailand and Malaysia graced the fair. The fair was organized to capitalize on the growing economy of Gujurat and its rising number of affluent class. Nepal stall succeeded in disseminating both general and specific information to the visitors. NTB won the best print promotion award, attributed to excellent combination of both content and substance.

Keen interests shown by the travel trade visitors towards Nepal prove that Indians are regaining their confidence to travel to Nepal.

India is the most significant market for the Nepalese tourism industry with approximately 1/3rd total market share. Indian market is important for both in terms of value and volume.

In 2012, Nepal received 1,65,815 tourists from India by air which is 20.6% increase as compared to 2011. In the period of Jan-July 2013 itself, Nepal received 89500 tourists from India.
