NTB appoints Subash Nirola as acting CEO

A meeting of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), on July 15, decided to appoint Subash Nirola as its acting chief executive officer.

Due to repeated disputes over the appointment of a new chief executive officer and the selection process, the board is still waiting for the appointment process to be completed. However, till the board gets a new CEO, Nirola has been appointed as the acting CEO.

Nepal Tourism Board has been without a chief executive for around two years. “After then CEO Prachanda Man Shrestha retired on October 31, 2011, Nepal Tourism Board had appointed Nirola as its officiating chief executive as the board needed someone to monitor its daily work,” said member of the board Dhurba Narayan Shrestha.

The NTB board had formed a two-member sub-committee which was supposed to shortlist the applicants and forward the report for final approval but the process was postponed as one of the unsatisfied applicants filed a case against the sub-committee.
