Shopping malls zero in on New Year customers

Shopping malls in Kathmandu Valley have geared up to organize various programs and offer special discounts for customers on the occasion of the Nepali New Year. Civil Mall, United World Trade Center (UWTC) and City Centre are organizing various musical programs and providing customers special discounts while shopping.
 
Stores at Civil Mall are providing discounts to customers and also giving away a prize for the winner of a Civil Shopping Carnival. The carnival started a few months back and customers buying goods worth over Rs 1,000 will get a coupon with which they can win various prizes.

According to Nishant Shrestha, head of marketing and communications at the mall, the mall is giving away bumper prizes of a Bajaj Avenger bike and a trip to Dubai for one person each.

Besides, the mall is organizing a musical program. Popular Indian singer Lucky Ali will be performing live.

UWTC is organizing musical programs with different artists and bands on April 13 and 14. Entrance is free for mall customers. It is organizing a summer sale of bedsheets, cushion covers and curtains among other items by Rangoli from April 12 to 17 at Direction Exhibition and Convention Center where customers will have an opportunity to shop at high discounts.

“UWTC is converting itself into a dance club on April 12 and customers can celebrate New Year´s eve with friends,” said Sandip Hirachan, managing director of UWTC. For this, customers have to pay Rs 1,000 at entrance.

Likewise, City Centre at Kamalpokhari is organizing different entertainment programs on every floor to entertain visitors. On the ground floor, the mall is organizing dance programs and a renowned DJ will be entertaining visitors. Visitors can measure their height and weight for free.

Similarly, the centre is putting on magic shows for free on the first floor, free tattoos and face painting on the second floor and surprise gifts for children at the game zone on third floor.

Besides, branded stores at the centre will be offering attractive discount. “We organize various programs on different occasion to make our customers happy and we hope this New Year´s also will be a memorable one at the centre,” said Pampri GC, manager of the centre.
