Pokhara hotels offer Valentine's Day discounts

Hotels in Pokhara are offering discounts to domestic tourists on both room tariff and food on the occasion of Valentine´s Day. They announced the discount--the first of its kind--in a bid to promote domestic tourism in the western Nepali city.

Hari Sharma, the president of Pashchimanchal Hotel Association of Pokhara, said local hotels were offering 25 percent and 10 percent discounts on room tariff and food, respectively, from February 13-15.

“All members of the association will provide the discounts for domestic tourists during the period. This offer will give a boost to tourism business in Pokhara, which has been witnessing slackness in movement of foreign tourists in the last few weeks,” said Sharma. A total of 350 hotels in Pokhara are members of the association.
