Dashain Bazaar 2012 kicks off

The 5th Dashain Bazaar 2012 kicked off at Direction Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), Tripureshwar on Wednesday.
The five-day fair is being organized by DECC to make Dashain shopping easier for people.

Chitra Paudel, coordinator of the event, said customers can get quality products at affordable prices at the Dashain Bazaar. “The event will make Dashain shopping easier, as people can find everything they need for Dashain under one roof,” he added.

According to the organizers, there are over 70 stalls displaying a variety of items ranging from home appliances to fashion wears, garments, handicrafts, furniture and food commodities. Other attractions of the fair include Nawa Durga Puja souvenirs, cosmetics, herbal products, and stalls of food and beverage manufacturers. Prices of products available in the event range from Rs 25 to Rs 100,000.

“The idea behind organizing the expo a few days ahead of the festive season is to give the consumers an opportunity to purchase quality products and services at an affordable prices at one place," said Poudel.

According to the organizers, the event has provided a platform for local and foreign entrepreneurs to promote their brands. “Exhibitors can get long term benefits from the fair as they get to deal directly with the consumers. Also, consumers will be benefited as they can get products and services at a nominal price directly from the service providers,” added Poudel.

The event also features 10 stalls from entrepreneurs of Bangladesh and Pakistan. Talking to Republica, exhibitors from both the countries said that they are participating in the event to study Nepali market and to build relation with the local entrepreneurs.

Roji Singh Shrestha of CE Marketing, which supplies different herbal products in the market said, this type of event helps build good relations between buyers and sellers.

The organizers are expecting total footfall of around 20,000 in the event that concludes on Sunday.
