Pahanchare festival observed

The cultural festival of Pahanchare celebrated by the Newar community in Kathmandu Valley was observed on Wednesday.

This festival is observed a day before the Ghodejatra festival or the horse festival. On the occasion of the Pahanchare festival, special worships are offered to the different deities as per the rituals.

The members of the religious trusts known as Guthis assemble in the evening on the day of the Pahanchare and enjoy a variety feast as the auspicious item given by the goddess.

Meanwhile, the followers of Osho observed the Bodhiswattwa Day here on Wednesday in commemoration of the day on which Osho Rajneesh attained enlightenment.

At a special function at the Osho Batika at Baluwatar, the Osho followers marked the Day by organizing meditation camp, pranayama and yoga exercise camps, discourse and discussion programme on Osho's contribution to spiritualism.
