News

With bungee jumping, paragliding and zip-line, local tourism has flourished greatly over the last few years. Apart from adventure sports, village home stay programs have also helped in elevating local tourism. Traveling within Nepal now is far more affordable than it was a few years ago.

Many young people opt to travel to accessible destinations during vacations these days. Apart from field trips from schools and colleges, the culture of hiking and trekking has certainly been established amongst the youth.

Everyone has a bucket list of things they want to do before they are 20 or 40 or before they die. Traveling is an integral part of many of these bucket lists. We asked where would you holiday inside Nepal on our Facebook page and got some interesting answers.

“I haven´t been out of Kathmandu much but I want to travel around rural villages and experience their lifestyle. I don’t have a specific destination but the whole country, I guess,” wrote Nirmal Kurtyel on our Facebook page.

“I want to go to Sindhupalchowk’s tea garden which is a four hour bike ride from Kathmandu,” Niranzan Khatiwada said, “ This is a place rich in biodiversity!”

“It will probably be Annapurna Base Camp. To experience the spectacular mountain vistas from so close would be a dream come true,” said Bipin Bashyal.

If there is anything that you realize after every Geography lesson in school, it is that while you can easily plot Hudson Bay and Australian territory on world map, you cannot remember which district lies where on the map of Nepal.

Apart from the rich diversity of landscape, flora and fauna; being the second richest country in water resource and Mt Everest, we have very little knowledge of the country we sometimes proudly call ourselves citizens of.

“I have only read of Nepal’s natural beauty in books and watched television programs on different places. That is a very unfortunate thing. I watched a program on Nepal Television about Rara lake sometime back. Since then I have wanted to visit the place, it’s the first thing on my list,” shared Samikshya Bashishtha.

So, stop planning and start traveling like that billboard in Rangasala says.
