Third anniversary celebrations: Ace Travels creates history; opens 12 branches in a day

News

AceTravels.com marked its third anniversary on Friday, inaugurating 12 new branches across the country. This is first time that a Nepali travel agency has opened a dozen branches in a day.

The new branches have been opened in Biratnagar, Dharan, Birtamode, Banepa, New Baneshwor, Pulchowk, Thamel, Kalimati, Shywambhu, Tinkune and Maharajgunj. The company plans to add more branches, totaling to 30, within this year.

Established in 2009, the company has been able to make its mark in the travel industry with aggressive promotion and competitive tour packages for both international and domestic sectors. Last year, the agency sold 400 packages for inbound travellers, while the outbound packages amounted to 1,500. Particularly, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Dubai are preferred destination among outbound tourists.

AceTravels.com has more than 50,000 satisfied customers. “As we guarantee fair price, over 95 percent customers are fully satisfied with our service,” said Managing Director Arjun Prasad Dharel.

Ace claimed its revenue grew more than 10 folds in 2010-11 and aims at doubling sales this year. “We have been receiving a good response for both inbound and outbound bookings from travellers for the upcoming festive season,” said Manager Sushil Kaji Baniya.

Keeping in mind the good response for outbound tour packages, the company is soon launching packages for Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Maldives, Mauritius, Egypt and South Africa. In the domestic sector, travellers prefer the golden triangle — Kathmandu-Chitwan-Pokhara. “Although Nepali holidaymakers have increased, the package sales are not so satisfactory,” said Baniya.
