Bahrain Air resuming flights to Ktm from Friday

Bahrain Air, which suspended its flights to Kathmandu on June 11, is resuming operations to the Nepali capital from Friday.

According to a senior airline official, the flight will resume operations with two flights a week. “We decided to resume the flights as we received a large volume of requests from customers in our network for restarting the flights on Bahrain-Kathmandu-Bahrain route,” Richard Nuttall, CEO of Bahrain Air, said in a statement on Wednesday.

“We are delighted to announce two weekly flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to Bahrain International Airport. Passengers can again connect themselves to their favorite destinations after reaching Bahrain.”

The flight to Bahrain will depart from Kathmandu on Fridays and Sundays at 10:55 am with returning flights on Friday and Sunday at 2:40 am.

“The departure times are designed to arrive in Katmandu early morning to facilitate same day onward travel into Nepal for residents and tourists alike,” said the statement.
The airlines said it was positive about increasing the number of flights in near future. The airline was earlier operating up to seven flights a week.

Bahrain Air also resumed its flights to Dhaka from Monday. The airlines will operate three flights a week on the sector. It had suspended flights to Dhaka on June 20, 2011.

The privately owned carrier had launched flights to Nepal in March 2009, making Kathmandu 17th destination in its network.

“Kathmandu will remain an essential part of Bahrain Air´s network; being the fifth city the airline currently operates in the South Asia region,” Nuttall added.

The airline has expressed hope that the resumption of flights will boost tourism of the country and also provide affordable choice to migrant workers.

“Maintaining our slogan ´Affordable Fare, Genuine Care´, customers will be offered the best value for money for travel to Bahrain from the region," Nuttall said in the statement.
