Nepal promoted in London

London: Nepali community residing in London on Sunday participated in a business expo to promote Visit Lumbini Year (VLY) 2012. Nepal is participating in the event since 2010. Most of the Asian countries have set up their stalls in the expo.

Speaking at the expo, Nepali Ambassador to United Kingdom Suresh Chalise briefed the visitors about tourist destinations and cultural attractions in the country. “Events like these play an important role in building brotherhood amongst Asians,” he said.

Muchhetra Gurung, President of Tamu Dhi UK -- a representative organization of Gurung community in the United Kingdom, said the fair was a best platform to promote Nepal´s tourism attractions. “We are using this event to promote tourism; and this year´s focus is on Visit Lumbini Year,” he added.

Nepali Embassy along with a number of Nepali organizations participated in the event.

"We have been facilitating the Nepali participants at the expo. The response of visitors this year has been quite encouraging," Hari Bahadur Hadkhale of Nepali Embassy in London said.

The event also features traditional dances and cultural processions of different countries.
